On to the subject at hand. I got up early and took Indy downtown for a morning walk. We wandered up and down Main Street a couple of times before finally going back home. I took August to Lowe's after that for the Build and Grow clinic where he built a pirate treasure chest. He had a good time even though I had to do a lot of the building. The treasure chest was much more involved than the pirate ship a couple of weeks ago. The rest of the day was spent working and walking wherever I could. Today should be more of the same even though I slept in this morning until 8:00. I may be going out of town later to do some shopping. That is usually good for a few thousand steps.
Yesterday's Steps: 16,244

Just found your blog. It is very cool that you keep track of your steps. I love that idea... you literally see how far you have come!
And as for your last post I dont think you should apologize. Although you don't know if those people have other conditions that require the need of a motorized chair, I am going to flat out say that if they do it is probably because of the weight in the first place.
I always thought those kids projects they did at Lowe's or Home Depot looked cool; my kids were too old when they started doing them at a local Lowe's, otherwise I would have wanted to participate in them; the treasure chest sounds cute
hope you get the steps in today you want to get in
betty
I don't think you should be apologizing for what you wrote either. If you were a 175 pounder with no idea what it is like to be in these people's shoes then I don't think you'd have any business passing judgement. But in reality you do know.
As far as everyone talking about handicaps that you can't see, I think that is a little too obvious. You are not an idiot and are perfectly aware that some things are not glaringly obvious. The way I took it was you were only speaking to those that were riding ONLY because they are overweight. The only reason you should be called to the carpet is if you actually said something to these people without knowing the whole story. All this was taking place as a dialouge with yourself so no harm no foul.
People are just too freaking touchy these days!
call 'em like you see them homie.
